I have received multiple calls from this number as well, however, today i decided to call them back as they have never left a message. The recording says that "they" purchase business listings and that they are sorry if they reached my number in error. After that i was given the option to press "1" and have my number removed from their list. I hope this helps us all.
I got a call from 202-495-7127 on Jan. 16/09 at 2:26 PM. I answered but there was no response from this caller! Silence. What is the point of doing this? Albertan does not appreciate such disrespect.
I think the automatic dialer checks to see if the phone number they've called is a legitimate number. The first call is just to add you to their system. Then the automated messages start. I would call them as another poster suggested, to get my name off their list but I am wary that there may be crazy expensive long distance charges if I do. I'm going to use call block through my telephone company.
