They just called my friend today July 29, pretended that they were the IRS. Said that if she didn't give them money they would arrest her and asked for almost $3000 in cash, asked to meet her in front if a store to give them the money. They told her that she couldn't pay via check or credit card.
How do these people sleep at night? It's upsetting to think that they could even do this to extremely vulnerable people who may be extremely gullible (like little old grannies or grandpas!) They should look themselves in the mirror and be disgusted by themselves for being so evidently malicious. They should be arrested. It's just not right.
Beware of scammers been getting a call from this number (202) 506-9841 since 8 am this morning calling and hanging up I called back a man with an accent said it was the irs I hung up Google the # it was a cell phone I called the real irs they said they havent called me the number called me back 1 hour later a recording saying it wss the irs and urgent to call back immediately so i did the man answered said he was the irs and to give him my name and ss I said no bc im not sure this is the irs so than he began to talk crazy asking me my bra size lol he doesn't know I live for this he should have checked my call center and chat line experience before he decided to play on my phone needless to say he hung up and blocked me

I received a message from this number and called back this number. The man asked me if I have a lawyer to handle my case. I said I had no idea of what he was talking about. The man said I was under the 3 criminal charges against the back taxes due for the tax year of 2008 and 2009. I said I have never received such notices. He said Ms. Lisa White has tried to deliver the notice 4 times on Jan 4, Feb 13, 14 and Mar 24, but no one was home. Now, IRS is taking seriously and someone will come to my home today to arrest me. Once arrested, the court will not accept bail for 90 days.
I said I would call back after I talked to attorney, then the line was disconnected.
