I too have been getting these calls for weeks every morning around 8am. They don't leave a message and I have never tried calling back. This is on my landline. But... the name on caller ID is Wm Malone not octothorpe.
Just got a call from this number, identifying themselves as "OCTOTHORPE" on the caller id. When I answered I immediately got a "click". Will keep an eye on them. (Btw "octothorpe" is another word for the symbol #?? ya learn something new every day)
This number calls me several times every day. I have never answered it, but occasionally the extra digit at the end changes from a 1 to a 2. My phone log (which I never clear) reports 62 "missed" calls from 202-540-51201 and 21 from 202-540-51202. It is extremely annoying that they continue to call, but without a name on the ID and no family/friends from that area code, I don't feel that answering to ask them to remove me from some imaginary No-Call list is worth the risk of having my identity stolen. Looks like I have to put up with this until some authority takes this harrassment seriously and finds a way to stop it.
i had this happen too. an extra digit pops up. my mom called me and this number popped up. i did not answer it but i knew it was her because she left me a message right after that call
I recieved a call from this number today OCTOTHORPE 1 11 2010. I called back and no one answers. This is the first time I received this call from DC area. When you call back use *67 and then dial the number so they don't know who is calling
"Our greatest glory is not in never failing but in rising every time we fall." was the recording.... not sure what the heck this is..... glad I checked it out
