I'm getting calls from this same number saying I've been selected from the federal government to receive a once in a lifetime free government grant that never has to be paid back of $9,000 because I've paid my taxes on time for a one time refundable fee of $250. Says I can go to my local Western Union. When I told him I looked it up and shows it's a scam and asked what department of the federal government he was associated with, he hung up on me. The guy was Asian and gave me an American name (Jerry Wilson).
Talk about RUDE! She claims to be Officer Kimberly Smith from the Legal Dept. of the IRS. She said a criminal law suit was filed against me and gave me a case number and her phone and if you or your attorney don't call her back she wishes me luck as this unfolds on me. Hey Kimberly, find a real job and quit harrassing people on the phone! The IRS doesn't call ANYBODY!
I received the same call as the person above. Claims to be Kimberly Smith and that it is a legal department from IRS. That me and my attorney need to call her back about my case # and proceeds with the number. She repeats her message, phone number and to call her because if me or the attorney don't call she also wished me luck as this case unfolds on me. So I called the number back and some other foreign person answers US treasury and then proceeds to ask me my name and when I won't give it to her she hangs up on me! Very rude people!!
Called back from my office phone and spoke to John Smith with the Dept of Treasury - right. He was unable to identify which lawsuit unless I provided him the phone no where the message was left. I offered the reference number, but that doesn't seem to mean anything. Sounds like robocalling to me. He told me he would be sending the sheriff out to arrest me. I will be waiting.
Received a call from this number and 202-552-6659 with a message that m or my attorney must call back immediately. I called back and stated that I do work for the U.S. government and what was the nature of the call. Then the person started saying that he was "hard of hearing" and being rude. It is a scam, which needs to be reported.
These are some East Asian rascals ([***] or Indian) running a scam operation, impersonating IRS. Just to get even, I have called them from different lines and cursed them in choice 'Hindi'. I wish the VOIP, Landline and Telco operators were required to verify the identity and credentials of anyone requesting a US-based telephone number.
