Heavily accented man told me he was from the government and I was eligible for a $9000 grant, I asked him what department of the government and he said "Washington DC" I informed him that is not a department that is a city. He then asked me several questions - I told him I was not comfortable giving out personal information on a phone call and he asked why - I told him I think this call may be a scam and I wasn't going to give information like that out. He told me "F*** you, I hope you die soon". I tried to call the number back - it was not in service.
line is a "verizon landline" per the reverse look ups I have done - in Washington DC - when you try to respond with a text to stop calling - it errors saying it is a landline - soooo if it is a landline (even though a disconnected#) it is a coming through call masking software - so it can look like a valid # (software is cheap and anyone can buy it). You can have voicemail boxes, departments and use any # you want as caller ID from a VOIP or Cell phone - too bad this idiot isn't smart enough to have the software route incoming to a bogus voicemail box, the standard line disconnected message is a give away it is a bogus call.
Heavy accent man called and asked for a name I couldn't understand. I told him he has the wrong number. He became very rude and started harassing me. I ended up hanging up
Man with a heavy East Indian accent called go tell me I have been randomly chosen for a $9,000 federal grant. I continued to ask him questions until he eventually useda couple of explicative expressions and hung up on me.
