Received a message on my cell phone call indicating I was being sued by the IRS. I called the number and a man with a heavy East Indian / Pakistani accent. In broken English I need to pay back taxes. I asked if him what is the name he was collecting from and he would not say. I asked for his name and employee number to which he to me to shut up and pay the taxes. I then told him I was a Federal Employee and was an FBI agent and he quickly hung up.
Received 3 messages today from 202-569-5674 claiming to be the IRS. Said I am being sued unless I pay right now. I googled this number and saw all the postings from other people who have received this same call. I called them back and called them out on being scammers. The man on the phone started talking dirty to me. I won't repeat the things he was saying. Needless to say, this is not the IRS calling.
I got calls followed by voice mails form (202) 569-5674 & (202) 754-8446 on Friday 2/5/2016 Telling me that I was being sued by IRS. When I called back, someone answered "IRS". After I gave my full name, I asked about the call & the voicemail. the person who I couldn't tell whether it was a man or a woman, as the voice quality was very poor, and the person had very heavy accent I couldn't tell whether it was African or Eastern Indian. When I asked for what I'm being sued, he or she said they couldn't give me any info since there is a lawsuit and they are not allowed to provide any details. I asked how come I didn't receive mail, the answer was they tried to reach me for the last 45 days & send the mail 3 times but as it was certified & needed a signature, they left me a note at the door to pick it up at the post office! And since I didn't go pick it up it was returned to them.. I asked the person I need some info on what I'm being sued for he answered "for error in calculations for the years 2009 to 2013"
I told the person I need this mail, he/she asked me to prepare a pen & a paper to write down something. I replied that I was driving & can't write as well as I couldn't understand a word he was saying!!! This person hang up on me!!
I will call IRS to report this scam.
got a call from this number and it was a Washing DC area code. they left a recorded vm to call back but didn't state why. after reading all these post, I will not call back, thank you everyone.
