I got a call from 603-457-4579. There lady had an indian accent and was claiming to be from a Governement Grant company and that I had been selected along with 17,000 other ppl in my area to recieve a $7000 grant. I asked her what the catch was and she said "nothing", so then I asked how much I had to pay to get the grant and she said again, "nothing". She asked me how I would like to recieve my money and I told her cash. Lol, I'm not stupid enough to give my account info. She gave me a code and told me to call this number and speak with her boss, Debbie Bennett, then I could get the grant. Ok so the whole time I'm thinking this is bull and these ppl are trying to scam me but I though lets check it and see so I called the number and it just kept ringing so I hung up. I got a call back a few minutes later from 208-570-9529 and the woman claimed to be Debbie Bennett asking for my code. I had stepped away from where I had written down the code and told her i would call her back. When I called back again the phone just kept ringing, when I called the 208 number back I got a message saying the person was not in range of service or the phone was off. So then I tried calling back the 603 number and got a message saying the number was a non-working number. So of course, me being me I had already planned to investigate asap and sure enough my suspisions were correct this company is a fraud. Sux cuz I could use a lil extra money right about now, lol. Anyway, callers beware of these scammers.
heather be glad you missed it cuz they are scammers trying to fool ppl into sending money to then in exchange for grant money that is supposed to be free.
I just received a call from that same number mentioned in the first comment and they said I was granted $7,000 in grant money, then the Indian accent person gave me a list of stores to go and call them back at with a confirmation #. I picked Walgreen's. I called Walgreen's and talked to a manager to validate if it was true and the manager said, he's never heard of such a thing. Confirmed it is fraud.
