They called my cell phone twice. First time I picked up and it was a foreigner that stated something about PC issues. I hung up. I did not pick up the second time but no message was left
I keep getting calls from Computer Fix SC 202-861-6525 telling me "their service" has indicated someone in NY is trying to hack into my computer! I have no contract or association with this company. I can barely understand the person calling and told him to send me an email describing the problem and he said they cannot do that. I told them to take me off their calling list and he said they cannot do that until they can resolve this problem. I subscribe to an anti-virus vendor. I ran a full scan which reported zero threats.
This call came through with just the number, not point of origin or business name.
Third call of this type.
First one was about 8 PM a few days ago, caller ID Las Vegas.
Broken English voice asked for me by name, asked how I was doing.
"Suspicious," I said, "it's 8 PM, state your business."
Click.
Same caller ID -- Las Vegas, NV -- this time female, again broken English.
I identified as retired law enforcement, please state your business.
"Your computer," she began, and I interrupted: "This is a scam, do not call back," hung up.
Today, numbers only on caller ID screen, male voice, "Your computer --"
"This is a scam, DO NOT CALL BACK," hung up.
Received 2 calls with no answer,3rd call was a female with mid eastern accent reporting someone is hacking my computer from New York. I questioned her an out her employer and she hung up.
Caller claimed that he was calling about my Windows computer. Aside from the fact that I couldn't understand him, I knew that this caller was full of crap! I hung up on him the first time and then he had the audacity to call me right back. I rudely told him that I did not know who the heck he was and not to call me again. I hung up on him and blocked that number from contacting me again! >:^\
