Claim I owe for a cash advance load which I had paid OVER 3 yrs ago. They are full of it! I owe nothing and they wouldn't give me any information until I gave them my SS and address. if I owed it, they'd have my info.
You may want to contact your bank and the credit bureaus and have them place fraud alerts on your accounts. Remember, that debt collectors must prove you owe a debt - if they can't, it's not up to the alleged debtor to prove he/she doesn't owe. Please do report your caller to the FTC, FBi, and your state's Attorney General. Never pay any caller who refuses to MAIL a debt validation letter showing you owe a debt and they have the legal right to collect said debt. Per the FDCPA, refusal to mail this documentation is a violation, and you should NOT pay them.
