Getting daily calls from this number or others on the list Chris posted above. It's obviously a robo-call. They are clogging my message system with hangup calls. I seldom answer the phone unless I know who it is. What a nuisance!
Whoever is calling is calling several times a day. I don't answer the calls anymore. I did go to Romney's web page after the first time and told him to "knock it off" as I won't vote for someone who harasses me. If I don't answer, they hang up. I suppose this BS is going to continue until after the election. Another 7 months....Ugh!
I recently bought a Panasonic Link-to-Cell cordless phone which has 5 identical handsets (one sits at the base station) in order to decide if I want to keep my landline or not but also to allow me to send and receive calls through my bluetooth capable cell phone using the cordless phone from anywhere within the cordless phone range in the house. One excellant feature that the phone has is user configurable call-blocking.
I read my manual on how the new phone treats calls that you have added them to its internal block list.
1) The phone rings, as most phones do, one ring only. It rings once because it doesn't have caller ID data yet.
2) The caller ID data is usually transmitted between the 1st and 2nd rings by the phone company, then the phone takes over.
This is what the manual says:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Call block (Caller ID subscribers only)
This feature allows the unit to reject calls when:
– the unit receives a call from a phone number stored in the call block list as unwanted (“Storing unwanted callers”, page 47).
– the unit receives a call without phone number (“Blocking incoming calls without phone number”, page 48).
When a call is received, the unit rings for a short time while the caller is being identified. (ONE RING)
If the phone number matches an entry in the call block list:
– landline calls are disconnected after the unit first sends out a busy tone to the caller. (HAVE A NICE DAY! / UP YOURS!)
Important:
When the unit receives a call from a number that is stored in the call block list or a call without a recognized phone number, the call is logged in the caller list (page 50) with [A CALL BLOCKED SYMBOL] after the call is disconnected.
Storing unwanted callers
You can store up to 30 phone numbers in the call block list.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blocking incoming calls without phone number (Nice idea, but some legit businesses do this too.)
You can reject a call when no phone number is provided, such as a call just showing “Out of area”.
ELECT ROMNEY (among others) is one caller who has gotten the busy signal/middle finger from my phone recently. Although I plan on voting for him as the lesser of 2 evils instead of the [***] monkey from Kenya, I don't need to be reminded.
I got a text message on my cel saying that Apple was giving away free iPads if you got on a website ending in ".mobi". Of course, I did not do what they wanted. But DO NOT GO ON ANY WEBSITE
ENDING IN .MOBI.
SCAMMERS.
We received a call from 202-609-7609. My called ID says " Elect Romney" A gal on the other end is reading a script so fast that it was nauseating. She wanted a donation and wouldn't take NO for an answer. Obviously, a scam artist. So, if you receive a call from this number.........just hang up.
