I got the same phone call telling me that I have 7000 in free money grant from the goverment. They had my name and address already... The girl on the phone wanted my checking account and or credit card # but did not gave her any info. She went on and gave me a number of Devine Sustin so that she can send me a check.... DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO!!!!
My son applied for a school grant on line. He said that he faxed a lot of information to a company. Today, he received a call congratulating him on the eligibility of a $7,000 grant and when asked for his checking account #, he gave it to them. I caught the very end of the conversation and asked for him to get a phone#. He was given 202-621-0168 as a call back# to 'initiate the loan'. We called the # back and was put on hold 2x by someone saying that they were busy and they would be back but the call ended by them both times.
My son is on his way to the bank right now to close out his account.
i just got the same phone call from a lady that could barely speak english and said i will get 7000 dollars in my account in a hour to an hour and a half and wanted my bank account number and i dont even know how they got my address and cell number but they have it. i hope these people get what they deserve doing this crap to people that have enough of a hard time this day and age. this nick smith guy asked me how long it would take for me to go western union the money and i told him that this has to be a scam and he said he has done his job and if i didnt want it then he would take me off the list or something like that and then he stayed on the line and didnt say anything like he was hoping i would change my mind but i hung up and now am going to try and report him.
I have received over for phone calls from this unavailable number. at first they were saying i could receive 5000 dollars in grant money and everytime i would start asking questions i would get hung up on. i have told them to take me off their call list and still receive calls. i got my 4th call today and i asked if their was a customer service number i could call to speak with a superior and i was given 202 621 0168 and told to ask for nick smith. i called a couple times and it would ring twice then disconnect finally i got through and and indian named nick smith answered so i hung up. i have never given these people any of my info and they did have my cell number and home address already. i read an eariler post abut a womans son who applied for grant on the internet well i did the same thing shortly before these calls started.
Same thing here... I won a 7000 dollar grant, but they needed my bank information and 99 dollars by Western Union. They already knew my name, address, zip, school, age, and DoB. Same number was given as a call back number 202 621 0168. I can't believe this has been going on since Nov. What do we have to do to catch these people and put them behind bars?
These people call from several numbers. They called me from 202#, but today it was 2139653964. And i assume the unknown calls also. They offered me a $7000 government grant.
