stated that I won a us grant for $7500 and to give them an ID number to get it western union.  Is this a scam?

I just got the same call they want me to go get a green dot money card for a security deposite...

I got a call from this and I so do not trust it so If they call back I am going to tell them not to call back

called claiming that the government is giving grants to people in the amount of $7500 to 1700 people in my area.  Is there any way to confirm this is not a scam as they want me to go to Western Union and gie $268 for a transition amount that I do not have. Then claim I will receive $7768 in return
