This number just called me for the 5th time in the last week or so. I have answered most times but there was never anyone on the other end. I answered this time and there was someone there for a change. He starts into his spiel about a grant from the american government and I interrupt him so tell him he is calling a canadian number and a canadian citizen. His grasp of english was terrible and kept say no "i'm calling from america" I would say I KNOW but you are calling a canadian number so this is obviously a scam, because there is no way the american government is handing out grants to canadians. He started to get angry asking how I knew it was a scam and I just repeated myself until he hung up.
Just got my 6th phone call in 2 days from this number. Different people each time. This time the guy stayed on the phone. I asked him who wanted to know if he was talking to me. Never got a name. Had foreign accent. Said he was from the Treasury Dept. I informed him that he was NOT from the Treasury Dept and that he was a scammer and he wasn't going to get any information from me. He started stumbling over his words and then he said "you're very smart." I told him yes I was and for him to remove me from his calling list. He told me he couldn't do that. I said yes you can and I was going to report him to the REAL Treasury Dept. Then he threatened me that he was going to call me every day. That's when I said no you won't...bye bye. And I hung up on him.
Yeah, I'm getting the exact same kind of calls you people are. An unintelligible Indian man tells me I've been randomly selected to recieve a grant and gives me someone else's number to call. I didn't even call them which is good cause I apparently would've gotten cursed out. Hey, I'm in college and it said it was from DC but I suppose its fake. Don't answer it. Block this guy
