Calls me multiple times a day, never leaves message. When I answer, I have to say "hello" several times and then caller says I'm preqaulified for a loan I never applied for.
Got a call from number 202 - 657 - 6093. The lady said she was from Federal Government Grant Dept of Health & Human Services.She had a very strong forign accent and couldn't hardly understand her and that I was being awarded Fed Grant monies in the amount of $9200.00 and gave me the number (202) 738 - 1160 to call back to give the conf. number TS502 for further instructions call asap like NOW because I was one of about 1500 people that were picked. So I called the other number and a man with the same accent answered, said his name was Kelvin and was with the Federal Government Grant Dept of Health & Human Services and asked me for the confirmation number TS502 and then said one moment while he pulled it up. All the while thinking this wreaks of fraud! He came back to the phone and asked if my name was "*****-*****" and I said yes and he proceeded to tell the story of the program the US Govt. was providing for the lucky
1500 people being awarded the amount of $9200 and how would I like that dispersed, by direct deposit, applying it to my card, or cash? Well I told him of course the cash. He asked what it was to be used for and I told college and then he asked if there were any moneygram locations near my location and I said plenty. He then told me in order to accept the offer in good faith I need to aquire $250.00 and deposit it in the moneygram system under a certain number that Walmart would supply me and that I would be getting that back with the grant money totaling $9450.00 and that URGENCY is important how long would it take for me to get it there. I told him about an hour as I lived out of town. Well I killed some time going about 9 blocks
to the post office having, a bite to eat, and back home where then I called the number back, still the same guy, and told him that I was currently unemployed and did not have any money but still needed the grant and could I give them $100.00 and then the rest when the grant money was in my hand then he had to verify that with his superiors. He took a moment doing that came back and said if I could do at least half that would be no problem. That's when I Googled the phone numbers which brought me here! I read a few things about the whole deal and decided to play a little reverse ????. So I called him back and same guy answered and I told him that there was a problem. I explained that 3 gentlemen were in my presence and said they were from the FBI and that they had been listening to their conversation over the past few months and asked if I would call you and have your organization "stay right where their at and not to move." That the building was surrounded at 200 Independence Ave SW Washington DC and that they would be breaking down the doors at any second. All I heard was the click of the phone hanging up. Lmao Lol.
