I think the lady was asking for me, but accent was so heavy and was mispronoucing it, I kept saying who? then I asked who she was, she said"this is (couldnt understand) who are you?" I said I dont know who this is so I am hanging up
I'm getting this call again. 4 months ago I was called by these people and they tried to get me to pay them 200 for a 17,000 grant money at Western Union. I played along for a bit to see how far it would go. The Idiot on the line even called me stupid for questioning their validity!!!!! I, too declined to give them my checking or credit card number. I also traced them to Taluca Lake California! Now it's District of Columbia...probably via Al Qida in Pakistan! oi fund more brothers' bombings in USA!
The same thing happened to be except they told me i had to pay a one time processing fee of $250 and when i laughed and said i wasnt paying for a FREE government grant, i was hung up on as well...
The same thing happened to me today! But a woman who really had no idea what she was doing and she became upset when I declined to give her my personal information, which she responded saying "don't waist my time!" So I said thank you and goodbye!
me too only i questioned the validity and the broad asked me.."do you want the money or not??" kind of stern like and i calmly and gently said " i dont think so" and then she said exactly as follows "then why you waste my time you (promouncedly) [***] [***] hole and then hung up on me. sounded like an oriental woman to me and then got a call from 202-666-5009 and i said i sure wish i could understand you better and it went on for a couple minutes and i said i didnt understand that last sentence spoken and the non american [***] hung up on me this time also. what the HELL is going on here?????????????????
The exact same thing just happened to me, only it was a woman that had a really deep Latino accent. I had to ask her to repeat herself three times before I could understand what she wanted. She wanted the same thing, credit card , account numbers, ext. but the amount she said the government wanted to give me was $8,400.00 as a grant and the government could only deposit it electronically. Then she hung up when I started laughing.
