numerous calls but I never answer.  caller never leaves a message.

This number is been calling me for four days, I finally answered the phone and nobody answered. Caller never leaves messages. Sick and tired of it.

same here......these calls are not coming from within the united states.
probably india.
the call will read washington dc but if you have caller id--you will also notice it is a cell phone
i suspect some clowns have hooked up the phone to a call center off shore..
got a hold of a compromised credit card list.and told  their workers to "call away"
notice that they ALL have vocal accents.

if you try to actually call the number back----it will not go through.
very curious!

if you actually talk with someone ..they will say you have won a government grant
but need your credit card info for their fee  or your  checking account number(with routing number)
so they can wire the grant money right into your checking account.
oh......they will also want your social security number.

this is a scam of the worst sort.

also..they will call under a host of 202-666-numbers.

First thing I noticed was the code 666. And it's from Washington DC. 666 and DC...it is so funny I almost laughed.
Secondly...It seems that it is some sort of automated calling system that is correlating the caller's voice or name with the number called. I can only guess at what the federal government needs that information for.
