I got a call from same number also saying they was from U.S. Government Grants Office. Gentleman couldn't speak good English, and when questions were asked he did not answer. when I told him I did not have any bank accounts he could deposit the money into, he immediately said "OK. thank you. bye." and hung up.
I got that call today, and I coudln't understand him most of the time. No matter what question I asked the answer was a long story that always started from the beggning over and over. Government selection of 1,500 people, and pushed 8grand in my face, and I asked how he got my number and the responce was federal government selection blah blah blah, and couldnt say anything when I told him that the phone I answered wasnt mine, and I had no ties to it. Strange how he knew my name though....
I got a call at 16:50 CST about the government wanting to give me a grant for $8,500. I couldn't understand the womans foreign accent, so I only got bits and pieces of what she wanted. She said I had been "Randomly selected by the Government" to receive a once in a lifetime grant of $8,500 for having "No criminal conduct" in the last 6-12 months. No specified department of the government was named, just "the government". She evaded any questions asking for more specific information, and kept insisting I give her a bank account routing # or the number of a pre-paid debit card to deposit the money to. The conversation was terminated on her end when I asked for information to be mailed, and mentioned the fact my phone is not even in my name.
I had it go the same way for me and she got silent after I toold her I didi t have a bank account. I could barley understand her.i asked her to send me information thru the mail and she hung up.like im gonna fall for that hahaha dumb [***]!
