I just got the same call, a grant of $8500.00 to be put on one of my credit cards. I said mail a check and they hung up. WHAT A SCAM! Don't give any information ever to anyone YOU don't know or YOU didn't call.
Got call from 202-666-7272 Lady said I had money coming to me. She was very hard to understand and alot of background noise. Call said it was from District of Columbia. I hung up on her!
I also have been receiving these calls and after hearing his entire "great deal" I told him that it is a scam and that he wasn't going to receive any of my info... and that I was going to call the authorities and report it...he just laughed at me... I reported it to the FCC (phone Fraud) phone # 1 (877)382-4357...I the same guy called me again a couple days ago and tried to do it again and I told him that I requested to be put on the do not call list and for them to stop calling ! He just called me again and I screamed at him and told him that he needed to stop F***ing calling me...And he started laughing and said "oh no, I'm going to call you every day...I told him he better stop calling as I will report it to the FCC again....and then I hung up...then he called again...I told him stop calling me...I got in my car and drove to the police station and reported with them and then I came home and called my cell phone provider and they blocked it for good hopefully...I am now going to call the FCC again...If they call you again then call the number for the FCC (above) and report it as this is the only way it will be shut down...They need your info to shut it down...I feel sorry for the people that fall for this stupid give away of grant money....Think about the US Government is broke would they be just handing out money to anyone....Its funny when he told me that I was selected for $8,500.00, I asked him if I could spend it on what ever I wanted and he said yes...and I said " So I could by some crack cocaine with it I could" he said yes...If they were a real telemarketer they would have removed my number and stopped calling...Help me shut them down !!
