I have had a couple of these calls. Called back on a non identifiable line assuming it was a scam call. I had to let the phone ring a long time (10 rings) and the ring was very strange (broken ring) as if it was being routed to another place. A woman answered and there was lots of noise in the background as if she was at a pay phone or sitting in a call center with lots of people talking. I didn't talk to her but she identified herself as IRS.
I just received the call and i answered some questions but gave no personal info. Just confirmed my name. I was on the call for about 15 mins. If they didnt ask for ssn or anything what can they gain from that call?
Well they will tell you that your federal taxes are wrong and that all sorts of bad things will now happen to you. However , they can make the whole thing just go away if you send them some money by untraceable means. And that's about it.
I just received a call from this number. A message was left dashing the IRS is suing me. I called the number back and no answer. After reading the other comments I'm convinced this is bogus!
A lady called saying I was been sued by the IRS and my daughter called on her cell phone and it was no answer and my daughter said the IRS will not call you
