I just got the same one and everything. I called the guy back and said that I recieved a call from the police telling me it was a scam and then he finally said his job is to tell you how to get 8500 but he will lie to you the whole way through saying that he'll send you 8500. [***] those guys..
told me i was selected to receive a grant and the amount of 8500 when called back to the other number that they gave me they wanted a payment of $250 and right there I knew it was a scam
I first received a call from phone number 226-122-1233 in which a representative said I had been selected to receive grant money from the government. He then went further in conforming my name and address and how would I like to receive my grant; into my checking account or credit card or money gram. I claimed not to have neither one or two which left me with the third. He then gave me a 202-738-4596 number to Immediately call after hanging up which I did.
I then spoke with Kelly, who identified me to be from Maryland and In order for me to get my grant in fourthy-five minutes is to go to Walmart and pay a $269.00 processing fee into their account. She, yet warned me not to let that many people know about it. This was the red flag that made me google this phone number
