Thank you so much for that info. I received the same call talking about a lawsuit. I have other people living in my home and they did not say exactly who they wanted. I figured it was a SCAM. I did not return that call.
I just saw an automated voice mail from 729-412-5627. In broken English it said that the "IRS" was filing a lawsuit against me (it didn't even say my name) and this was my final notice. To get more information I have to call 202-738-4598. Obviously this is a scam but it seems like they are using a lot of different phone numbers to give the same message... so annoying.
RECEIVED BOT CALL FROM 725-432-5657 (CALL ID SHOWS AS NAME UNAVAILABLE) STATING IRS WAS FILING LAWSUIT. GAVE NO PERTINENT INFO AS TO WHO IRS WAS FILING AGAINST. JUST LEFT A NO TO CALL...202-738-4598. I CALLED AND A MALE WITH FOREIGN VOICE ASKED WHY I WAS CALLING. I SAID "YOU CALLED ME" AND YOU CERTAINLY DO NOT SOUND LIKE ANYONE FROM IRS. I LAUGHED AND HUNG UP. CALLED THE 725 NO AND RECORDING SAID NO NOT AVAILABLE
I received a voicemail from (723)482-5677 stating this was the "final attempt to notify me" even though this was the first call I have ever received from this number. The recorded voice stated the purpose of the call was to inform me that "the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me". I was SUPPOSE to return the phone call for information and a case number. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences with this phone number! I was certain it was fraudulent; IRS uses snail mail, the phone number to call was not a toll-free number, robot recording, and incorrect "first/final" contact attempt. Also, I received this call on my cell phone, and I am not the head of household. It's just WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. I'm going to SHARE these phone numbers with THE REAL IRS!
They called at 615 am and left a message that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. Robot voice and no details except for me to call. That is not how the IRS would file a complaint. Total scam!
