Who called from 2027384703

I just got the call. I didn't argue with the guy because I could barely understand him anyway. I told him that I only have a prepaid debit card and asked if they could send it to that. Of course they couldn't! Surprise surprise! Also, They didn't even know my last name or age. That should be a huge hint that it is a scam. If they were really from the government, they would know would know more about you than just your first name, phone #, and address. I am down and really need the money but I did not fall for it. These scammers really need to be stopped!

The number they called me from showed as 202-407-9056 on my caller id.

I received the phone call and was told to call this # 202-738-4703 so I said sure what the heck lol.. so I called and gave them my code # as I was asked to do so they could finish the process of Western Union my money to me.. all was great but extremely odd until they told me I would have to pay 220.00 to the western union for taxes of the money. They told me to call them once I arrived there so they could walk me through it.  Lol yeah ok! First of all the sender pays any fees for the transaction at western union not the receiver.  If the receiver had any money then we wouldn't be needing their money.. yes the 9,000.00 dollars would be nice and help out alot but really... if the government is going to give u any money they wont be calling u and having u to call another number.. they will send u a letter and explain everything to u and if its going out to 17 thousands people it would be plaster all over the news.. would like to know how this actually works tho. I bet they giving u all the info to send them the 220.00 through Western Union and not the other way around.  Are they really that stupid to think that people wouldnt be asking the clerk to show u that 9k was waiting on u and that u wouldn't realize that u was sending them money instead of filling out to receive.  God I hope we dont have any Americans stupid enough to fall for this..

I got a call from this number and they were offering $9,000 in federal grant money. Supposedly, I was one of 1,700 people across the country to be selected for this money, because I had always payed my taxes on time. Side note: my taxes have been late for the last two years, which is the reason I still haven't received my refund. They then directed me to 203-923-4781. Both parties had thick middle eastern accents. They said to go to western union and provide $220 to wave waive processing fees that would apperently total over $2,000. I've reported both numbers to the federal trade commission and the Texas consumer protection commission. Watch out for these people and don't give them any info just hang up when it sounds too good to be true. It is! The government doesn't give out grants without huge piles of paperwork. For once the the beuqacratic process actuall was helpful.

I was applying for grants and thought it could be legit until they said go to western union and pay $220 down before they transfer the money. Then a red flag went up and thought I would love for them to get in trouble for this and thought I would check out whos phone number it really is. They even sounded evil to me.
