I had a message on my phone that said something about how "they" could help me (i.e. steve martin), and if they didn't help me, I could have a judge or magistrate doing something to me. It was a computer-generated voice. I did call the number, but it just rang without end.
Won't work. Callers are located in India and Pakistan and outside the reach of US law. Invest in a call blocker and do not pick up on numbers you do not recognize.
The cid says "Cell Phone DC." This is a well-known scam. These crooks (masquerading as the U.S. Treasury) think that I would be dumb enough to fall for it.
Just received a call from this number from "Steve Martin" (ha ha) for a US Treasury enforcement action, if I ignore this, then there will be federal action. Yeah, right.
Just got the call from Steve Martin. Wish I could have said, "Well, excuuuuuuuuse ME!" Lol. But all joking aside, we know immediately that this is a scam, but they prey on the vulnerable who might not understand what the deal is. Horrible thing to do. Might not help, but I'll report anyway.
