I had a message on my phone that said something about how "they" could help me (i.e. steve martin), and if they didn't help me, I could have a judge or magistrate doing something to me. It was a computer-generated voice. I did call the number, but it just rang without end.
Got the same call as everyone else from our buddy Steve Martin. Listened to him then let him know that I would be placing a curse on him and his family and enjoy the storm coming to his world. Also invited him to please come to my house to collect in person but be sure and kiss the baby before he leaves his house. He would not be coming back. He hung up quickly.
Received the call at 1045 am. The call was a recording in which the caller stated that his name was Steve Martin with the treasury department and that I needed to call him or I could be in serious trouble. I would like to meet him in person and "discuss" it. Seriously though, there are unsuspecting people that fall for this.
Complete scam!...Here is a transcript of voicemail I received via email:
"And I'm calling regarding an enforcement action. Executed by US treasury intending your serious attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 202-754-8368. I repeat 202-754-8368. Alright you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thank you."
I called the number to tell them to stop calling me and then I would report them to the US government. The accent was so thick I could barely understand them and not even sound like they were trying to speak English most of the time. At one point it sounded like you said they left that message because they are doing an audition !
Have received a total of 3 calls so far this week. Same message, piss poor english from a pillowhead. State that a federal process some kind and I need to call them. Steve Martin. I work as a police detective, and decided to have some fun. So I called and introduced myself, "Steve" asked for my badge number. Gave it to him and he started cussing with maybe a few new dirty words mixed in. I said. I know where you are and not in DC. I think this return call really did shake him up.
The recording was computer generated and did repeat 3 times. Steve had an Indian or Pakistani accent. Sent all the info to the FTC.
Just received a call from 202-754-8368 I knew it wa a scam but I love messing with them.....when I got the telemarketer on the phone she askED for my phone number so she could look up my record....(I gave them our local Walmart's number) true to form she said she looked up my record and I owe the IRS 18,642.29 and that if I send them a check for at least 1/2 that amount they will not seek judgement against me.... she then asked for the last 4 digits of my social secuity number I told her she already has it in her records... she paused and said excuse me mame you are correct, and then she proceeded to tell me where to send the check....I asked her if she was sitting in front of a computer and she said yes.. I told her to go to google and type 202-754-8368 which she did I then said do you see the word SCAM?????? all of a sudden the line went dead....hmmm I wonder why?????.... DON'T FALL FOR THIS STUPID SCAM.....
