Beware off this scam make sure u always Google it first type in IRS phone scams and u can read all about this scam how they spoof phone numbers act like a officer have a fake case number fake badge number. I got a voice mail saying I it was my final notice and some about a lawsuit common sense the IRS will never call they send many letters . I reported it to this number 1800 366 4484 the real IRS web site gave me the number every one should them so others do fall for this scam they will saw the cops are on they way to lock u up they try to put in fear in victims it all part off script even call the cops on them so u have it reported and if u get a call call family frwinds don't even make a decision when u are upset and u sure. Got a call from 202 766 6099 they left a automated message saying that i was being sued by the irs. I called the number back a male with a thick accent answered he said he as calling to get my lawyers information because i was being sued by the irs. I asked him to tell me why. He said that there was a miscalculation from 2008 to 2015. I told him that didn't make anysense he proceeded to tell me my license would be taken away money from my bank accounts would be taken an possible jail time. I continued to ask why and i demanded an explanation. He hung up in my face. The irs will not call you like that. This is a scam. He was able to tell me my first name that's it.
Just got home from work and heard a vm that the IRS was suing us and needed to call 202-766-6099. Freaked out and called right away (knowing all along it couldn't be true, because we paid our taxes on time automatically online) and got no answer but a distinct ring back like when you call overseas...so I calmed down enough to google both the 800 number the call came in on and the number we were to call back and here I am letting you all know it is a SCAM.
