I received a call this morning from "Washington" so I didn't answer. The message on my voicemail stated that they were calling from the "IRS, Internal Revenue Service". The message was my "final notice" and that the IRS was "filing lawsuit" against me. Even with an American voice on a robocall, the English is terrible. I reported the number and the details to TIGTA. I am sure that there isn't much they can do to stop it, but hopefully, as we share these experiences, more people will become aware and can better protect themselves.
This number called me via a recording claiming to be the IRS and wanted me to call them back on a different number which I did't catch; but when I called this number 202-779-4981 no one answers.
