Man of hispanic accent claiming to be IRS id# 7827/Stew Davis called saying they'd found an error in my filings and would be sending me $2173.00 to my bank account pending I pay $200 fee for making mistakes when filing my taxes. I told him to just deduct it from the refund and send me the difference. Oh no, says he. I told him to quit trying to screw us Americans over. I also lied that my phone was hooked directly to the police department and my husband was an officer and his location was currently being tracked. I'd be sending them to find him. Oh no, no, no says he. i was just trying to help you. We're not freaking idiots and hung up on him.
i just recieved the same call. guy said his name was john hudson gave me a badge number of 08644. said i was entitled to 2173 dollars from mistakes on my tax return. he knew my information. then proceeded to tell me if i paid 200 dollars my refund would post in 5 to 6 hrs and to goto a cvs or do money gram. i told him that i had a local irs office if im due money theyd reach me by mail. he hung up called back twice.
i recieved same call from the same guy. i know the irs number, it comes up as toll free 800 number. i informed john hudson that i will be reporting him to the fcc, fbi, doj,and any other acronymns i could think of.
Received computer generated VM call from this number saying they were with the IRS and had the amount of $2173 ready to credit into my account for a tax refund. They only needed to verify information.....do not give them any info. The person had an Asian Indian accent almost impossible to understand and even gave me an employee ID number and his phone adjunct to recall (#210). I was incredibly hesitant and decided to hang up. Glad I did...they should be reported to the FED's!
