Just received recorded message telling me there is a warrant for my arrest and to call back right away to avoid legal action. So I called them back. Answered their questions w/o giving any thing useful. Then told them the call was being recorded and traced.
The nerve, they hung up on me. : )
I was called by a person with Indian Accent and was told l owe IRS 37000 from 2012 ane l said this is first time l heard that then they told me l have to pay at least 1000 dollars today or IRS is waiting to arrest me so I got confused since l never filled bogus tax in my life the guy said asked for my goingcredit card and l got suspicious and told them it's a scam l ran the number on Google and it is bogus please someone need to report this Indian Scammers
The calls are coming from hardcore criminals operating out of overseas boiler rooms using computers to alter their identities and locations and out of the reach of US law enforcement. Do not call them back or attempt to engage them in a coherent conversation, as all they are interested in extorting money for nonexistent debts. And, if you pay them, not only will you never see your money again--but they will more than likely attempt to extort even more money from you. A local woman who paid them 5K is now receiving death threats if she does not pay them another 1K. If they call again, just hang up and block the number (if you have that capability) and report them to the REAL IRS online or (855) 411-CFPB (2372).
I got a call from this number saying that there was a tax fraud against and to call another number they gave me. When I called they asked me for my name which I did not give, asking first information about them, they insisted they wanted my name so I told them they probably were a fraud and I hung up.
