Got voicemessage last night after 700pm from "IRS Tax Admin" saying the IRS has filed a lawsuit against us. When called number it was a guy named "Adam White", IRS Case Officer ID #2508. He had heavy Indian accent which was suspicious. Said he is from attorneys office of IRS. He said we owe underpaid taxes for 6 previous tax years. He said how much we owe. Threatened law suit if we don't pay, as well as confiscate our house/cars, freeze our bank accounts, freeze our wages/benefits, notify credit reporting agencies, issue warrant, sieze, etc, etc. Wanted to know if we wanted to settle now? Fortunately, I was very suspicious & did not give him any personal info, not even my name, address, etc. We contacted our tax accountant & told him about it & confirmed not legit. **CAUTION---this is definitely a scam!! It's a big problem in U.S. If you get this type call, do not give any personal info about yourself. Hang up. Report them to the Attorney General's Office and/or TheTreasury Inspector General For Tax Admin. 1-80-366-4484
I just received a called saying the same thing. The IRS has a lawsuit against me. I called it back and is an Indian man, they want you SS # before they continue with your call.

Verified with the IRS today that this is definitely a scam & they're receiving alot of complaints all over U.S. Said the IRS will not call you to collect money. They have strict procedures, including sending multiple letters to you, not phone calls threatening you.
