Quote:Do Not Call has never worked.
Many posters in 800notes claim the Federal Do Not Call List (DNCL) is not working for them. We constantly attempt to find a way to explain what the DNCL really does, at a level these posters can understand.
Perhaps this table will help.
Type of callWill DNCL
Stop?CharityNO! PoliticalNO! Preexisting Business
(within last 18 months)NO! Legitimate, Registered Telemarketer YES SpammerNO! ScammerNO!
Remember,
The DNCL is NOT a call blocker!
Why doesn't the DNCL stop the other calls?
Charities, political calls, and non-sales calls are exempt. "Business relationships" may be exempt. Criminals do not obey the laws, and happily ignore the DNCL.
Want to stop unwanted calls without depending on somebody else to do it for you?
Obtain a call blocker. Google is your friend.
Please reply to this post to let us know you understand it, or will investigate real call blockers.
I have blocked this # & still they make it through to my voice mail & I get at least 1-2 voice mails EVERY DAY & all it says is, "Hi, this is Many Cooper, how are you today?" How can I prevent the calls from going to voice mail? The # is blocked already.
5 calls today, 4 yesterday and it appears it was less previously. So the calls are coming more frequently each day. I'm going to put a block on that number. So annoying
calls 4-5 times daily washington Dc-recorded message " hi this is Mandy Cooper how are you today" and there is no live body (or one with a brain) on the other end.
