I have gotten three calls from this number in the last hour. Due to my work, I always pick up calls, even from unknown numbers. This one is always dead silent on the other end. No clicking, no background noise, no electronic sounds. After about 15 seconds, it hangs up. Out of curiosity, and in case it was someone I needed to talk to for work, I called it back and was informed by an automated voice that the call could not connect.
Called today and left no message. I called back and got a very heavily accented man who said he was an agent with the IRS.. I asked him how the weather was in Pakistan and then hung up. Blocked. Scam.
I received 5 calls with no message. I called back three times. The third time, someone from the Eenthernal Rrrrebenoo Sehrrrbeece picked up. He said that I had owed the IRS a lot of money and that there was a warrant for my arrest. I requested a file number, and which forms of notification were attempted prior to the warrant being issued. He requested I confirm personal information, to which I suggested he proved some form of file/claim number and the date of file for my most recent tax return. Call disconnected.
I received 3 calls from this number in one day, on one call they left a message saying that I was being sued by the IRS. I didn't call back because I have no reason to believe that I would be sued by the IRS. Besides, if I were to have trouble with the IRS, I am sure that they would deal with it in a more professional or official manner. .
