I received a similar message, almost identical to the one you stated. Did they return your call and did you report that to the IRS? I am reporting this to IRS.

•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
This guy called stating I needed my attorney to return the call, or good luck as this thing unfolds on me. Ha Ha I work for a Sheriff and this guy just got a complaint filed against him, I Say Good luck to him. Don't return this caller is a scam!
Hey they calling me from this number I dont know what to do 202 864 12 98 said that he is a sheriff calling from IRS and that I need to pay them I Dont know what I havent do taxes
Got a call from that number. An Officer Brian stated that I owed 2,500.00 and if I hung up the phone he wld activate police in 30-45 min. Said they were going to put a lean on my house and car. Told him i dont even own a house or car. As soon as I mentioned I'm going to contact the IRS my self he got all offensive said I'm calling the cops on you and hung up on me.
