Just got the call from the "IRS" asking that I call them immediately. I had gotten a similar call last month. I did call back just to play with them a bit. Gave them a totally wrong name and phone number and they fell for it. Don't feel like playing this time. I wish there was "scammer" amongst all the choice this site gives us.
I received a call from the number 202-899-6295, they told me I Owe money to the Internal Revenue and asked for my phone number or else. This woman was loud and rude.
It's an IRS scam from a foreign country. They had an Indian accent and stated they were calling from the IRS regarding improperly paid or unpaid taxes/IRN-6141. Background sounded like an internet cafe. When I asked what country they were in, the person said "you don't know what country you are in?" and I asked again, "What country are YOU in" and he replied the United States. He asked for my name and I said if you called me and you are from the IRS you should have my name when you pull up my phone number. I proceeded to ask him if he is calling from the IRS, where in the United States is our IRS located? At that point (since he most assuredly did not know) he hung up on me.
1/13/2016 - 8:45 am ct - i got a call from them. I returned their call. They asked for my phone number and name (unfortunately i provided to them). After that they told me that irs had charges against me. I laughed and they said that it was my last chance - i asked, last chance of what???? I just laughed hard... They got mad and told me that an officer from the court was coming to my house to arrest me. I hanged up.
I just spoke to a Jack Williams. Because I blocked my number he really couldn't confirm who it was, BUT when they originally called they gave me a case number which should tell them who I was if this was legit. BUT the moment I told him that I did not believe he was Jack Williams because of his accent he hung up.
