I just got one too in S Ont. Area code is from Connecticut, when you call the number back, it's a busy signal - I've had these calls off and on for years - just ask them if you can speak to Bill Gates regarding his Windows Microsoft Products and the Registry issues... apparently they (the callers) don't like that one very much either LOL!
Called just now in Toronto. Immediately went into his script about Windows PC errors, etc. Went I tried to interrupt he simply spoke louder and tried to talk over me. Once he stopped I asked how many people actually fall for this scam. He mumbled something and disconnected.
Funny that article was from October 3 but yet these morons called me today. That lovely Indian sounding man called me and said that my computers were sending error messages monthly. I asked him to repeat and he did more slowly and condescending asking if I understand? I said no he asked why? I told him we use iPads in the house and no computers so I can not understand how he was getting error messages. The next thing I heard was click! LOL I am on Canadian do not call registry and laid a complaint. Hopefully they take the same action as the U.S.
I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Got a call with a lot of background noise. A man with an eastern accent said he was from the city of Winnipeg and was conducting a survey. When I said I don't do surveys, he hung up.
