Just got the same call last night (at 5:50pm) - robot-sounding voice - saying that the IRS is suing me and that there is a "non-bailable arrest warrant" out for me. Did not bother to call back, because the IRS will not try to arrest you without visiting in-person first.
Total scam.
Called by this number 786-275-5313. They left a message that they were the IRS and had attempted to contact me several times via United States Mail and telephone. This was my final notice and they were going to sue me over some kind of tax problem. They told me to call 206-201-2282 to make arrangements to resolve the problem. Instead I called the number it came in on and found it to be a non-working number. It is an obvious scam. They are getting really way out of hand. Not only are they violating the non-working Do Not Call Register, but they are impersonating a Federal Agency (IRS) and fraudulently claiming they used the US Mail.
I agree - they need to be reported for violating several things. Impersonating a Federal Agency is a felony. I'll help in anyway possible to put a stop to these people.
The problem with these calls is that they are coming from places like India and Pakistan. The only way we will ever be able to prosecute is if these nations allowed us to conduct an investigation and that is not likely to happen. That is why call blockers one of the tools to stop these calls.
I got the exact same message so that the call was final call and I was being sued by IRS. They gave me the 206-201-2282 number to call and it came from another number out of state (939) 565-3621. It told me to call the 206 number which rang back busy every time. This is a transcript of the message i received. Its either debt collectors or some scam. Pisses me off either way. They are violating federal law by being dishonest.
