This number is assigned to a company called Wow Technologies in Seattle Wa. They are a computer services company. I am concerned because I found they used my credit union debit card to pre-charge .01 cent on the account. They seem to be checking to see if the account is valid and perhaps will attempt a larger charge. I'm calling my CU to warn them about this, as I didn't authorize it.
I received a voice mail on my phone. A robotic but female voice telling me that this was "final notice" that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. I needed to call 206 204 5554 for more information. Thank all of you who posted your messages. Your messages put my mind at rest. I am not rich and I live in a small house, but I do have degrees in accounting, finance and economics so I am able to negotiate taxes. Still, you never know.
The IRS has posted a warning to consumers, advising them that scam calls are being made, across the country, by individuals who claim that the IRS intends to file a lawsuit against the person being called. Do NOT provide information to these people, hang up immediately and block the number.
