This number is assigned to a company called Wow Technologies in Seattle Wa. They are a computer services company. I am concerned because I found they used my credit union debit card to pre-charge .01 cent on the account. They seem to be checking to see if the account is valid and perhaps will attempt a larger charge. I'm calling my CU to warn them about this, as I didn't authorize it.
received the call this a.m. female voice saying last and final notice and irs was filing lawsuit. same modus operandi as accounts stated above. this scam would disappear for months, then, all of a sudden would resurface, but all on the same thread of messages. when will this stop and is anything being done about this?
Received the same message. All local news channels have issued a warning for this scam. This is not the first time I have received the IRS scam calls. Watch out, they use a multitude of numbers and speeches.
Received same message on answering machine. Message left That IRS is instituting a law suit
and that to call this number and repeated it twice.
Everyone should be aware THAT THE IRS DOES NOT CALL A PERSON THAT THEY OWE
OR ARE BEING SUED FOR ANY TAXES DUE. JUST HANG UP IF U ANSWER OR IF
MESSAGE LEFT DO NOT RETURN CALL.
There's little anyone can do. Callers are located in India and Pakistan and As such beyond the reach of US law. There have been some arrests of US based scammers, but that's about it. Invest in a call blocker and do NOT pick up on calls you do not recognize.
