Got a call from these foreigners from this number (206)317-1677 and the guy name was Eric Martin and was asked for bank account information or credit card number for a grant of $7000.00 from The Grant Dept but I had to pay a processing fee of $200! Yes they had my address and my cell number and knew my full name! I searched the number while on the phone and found out it is a scam number! I did not provide any information to him other than what they already had. I pray that no one falls prey to these people! These scammers are taking over with these scams! This has got to stop!!!
Weird we have almost same name. Told guy I couldn't understand his because his English was bad and to get off my phone. He said and I quote "[***] you" and kept repeating til I got the phone connection disconnected.
Want to add Man said he was from the Government Grant Department. If he had any sense he would know that no U.S. citizens trust the U.S. Government anymore.
Just got a gov't grant call from 253-336-5054. Saying I had to call 206-317-1677 to activate my gov't grant. We need everyone that get's these calls to report them to the fraud hotline. They will take all the information so get names and phone numbers to report. They crated a report, gave me the report number and also gave me the number of my state's attorney general's office so I could also report it at the state level.
Lets all make sure we take time to call the fraud hotline and make a report. it is the only way to "maybe" get the ball rolling on stopping these guys.
A couple, Eric Martin & Jenny, claiming they were with the Government Grant Dept., called from this number promising me a grant for $7,000 to be used as I pleased, BUT I needed to send them $200 as a one time transaction fee. Was also instructed to go to Kroger, Wal-Mart or 7-Eleven and purchase a green dot pak card and load the $200 onto it. Was asked for my bank account number and other personal information. I googled 206 317 1677 and learned that someone was scammed from the same number before. The area code is listed in the Washington area. The accents of both parties appeared to be that of foreigners. They already had my home address and I never divulged that information. They need to be stopped NOW!!!
