Received a call (caller ID said BainBridge Island) .. msg said that IRS was posting a lawsuit against me and that I should call
206.451.0992 (the caller ID #) I hung up.
Got a recorded message - this is the final notice that the IRS is going to sue me. It stated no details about the lawsuit and never mentioned my name which is major red flag. Plus, yeah, would have mailed a notice. SCAM. They said to call: 206-451-0992. I am not going to do that.
Definitely a scam. Guy spoke thickly accented, broken English. When it was clear he was getting no where with me, he started hurling really disgusting insults and threats. My advice -- DO call them back and do/say whatever you can to make their lives miserable.
received 3 calls so far - not IRS - use reverse call look up - this number associated with OTHER scams - just hang up -
IF HAVE ELDERLY IN FAMILY PLEASE TELL THEM OF THIS SCAM - LEAVE THEM NOTES TELLING THEM TO HANG UP - THEY MAY FORGET AND RESPOND TO ANOTHER CALL DAYS FROM NOW.....
