Beware off this computer scams more people have to go your local mayors office and report this so others do not get scammed if nobody reports this stuff older people will keep getting scammed. Nobody will ever call u and say your computer been hacked or u have a virus on it is common sense if u get a call tell them u no it is a scam and just hang up.
This just happened to me as well (11-10-15), but they used the company name Geeks4Help. Supposedly out of Seattle. My problem is I let them do it and then I was locked out of my computer. HP has been working on cleaning up my mess.and erase anything they may have put on. The Geeks erased almost everything I had on the computer. Plus I had to close my bank account when I stopped payment. One problem after another....I should have known better.
Same thing just happened to us....they called my wife at home and she said that anything PC related goes through me. I'm in IT and she had a feeling that it was not legit. She got their name and number and called me. I tried calling them to see how long they would be on the phone with me but keep getting hanged up once they recognized the number I was calling from. I wanted to see how long I could keep them on the phone without getting anywhere with me...just to mess with them....don't do/run anything anyone tells you unless you know them or have called their support line (you initiated the call). Play it safe....
