I got a recorded phone call from 210-301-0307, someone claiming to be Officer Julie Smith of the IRS, urgently telling me that I or my legal representative needs to "call back immediately, do not ignore this call" and call her back at 206-495-9309. Two hours later I got a call from the same number, this time a recorded call from a male telling me that a lawsuit has been filed against me and that he needs to speak to me before the lawsuit is filed at the County Courthouse in my area, and please call back right away to 206-414-6036. Both recordings were in American English.
This is a scam that has been going around. They leave a message saying it is the IRS. I called back to see how far they would go with it. They started out wanting to know who my criminal lawyer was. They said I had 3 IRS violations against me. Deficit in income tax and capital tax were two of them. Said I owed them 3221.91. After spouting section 1018 and 518 etc, they told me they were contacting the DMV who will come and seize my license, along with sending a case file to my employer detailing my criminal activity. I was also going to be in jail for 5 years. I could, however, hire an attorney for $15,898.32. When they asked if I had any questions, I asked how many people fell for their scam. They thanked me for calling the IRS and hung up.

•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
They are coming to take me away, and have already taken my license away and will be contacting my employer to tell them of my unlawful activities! REALLY??? What a scam! I ended up playing it out until the end and talked to the supervisor who would settle with me for $1,234 and make it all good again. I told him no and that I was reporting them to IRS, Federal Trade Commission, etc. and he told me to enjoy my stay in prison and hung up on me. These people have called me before but have added the recorded message that comes from Julie Smith and has no accent. Don't fall for this!!!
Yes, I received the same call and said not to ignore this call or further action would be taken! Don't fall for this crap and thanks for the reply..Indon't feel so alone!
