I got a recorded phone call from 210-301-0307, someone claiming to be Officer Julie Smith of the IRS, urgently telling me that I or my legal representative needs to "call back immediately, do not ignore this call" and call her back at 206-495-9309. Two hours later I got a call from the same number, this time a recorded call from a male telling me that a lawsuit has been filed against me and that he needs to speak to me before the lawsuit is filed at the County Courthouse in my area, and please call back right away to 206-414-6036. Both recordings were in American English.
Julie Smith must be a busy lady with contacts all over the country. She called yesterday and said that the police were coming to seize my home and cars or I could settle my "misfortune" with my CC or they would do a direct withdraw from a bank account. After laughing so hard my stomach hurt, I told he make sure that when the police came they came with a SWAT team!
I just received a voice mail saying he was from the IRS. His accent was so heavy that I couldn't even catch his name. He also told me that my criminal attorney or myself should call back immediately or I would be arrested. Again, this is a scam. The IRS DOES NOT handle their business over the phone.
Just got a call with a recorded message to call Julie Smith with the IRS at 216-495-9309, the minute I returned the call and he asked me what number the message was left on I realized it was a scam and I told him I didn't believe this was the IRS, the man who sounded like he was from India said "You don't believe this is the IRS?" and I said No, they usually communicate by mail, and he hung up on me!! Beware People!!
Julie Smith is VERY busy today! 8/22/14 I received a call at 2:40 central time stating that this call is very time sensitive and that I needed to return the call immediately. SCAM I didn't call back after seeing these posts from above. Thanks all for posting. The call came across my phone as an Unknown number which I DO NOT answer.
