I too just received another call from 206.496.0417 on my cell, now mind you,
I am on the National DO NOT CALL LIST FOR BOTH MY HOME AND CELL..!
Tue Oct/26/2011 9.36am They called my cell, I didn't recognize the # so I didn't answer.. I did call the number back right away and only got a recording that said,
( Thank you for calling back, If you wish to no longer receive our promotional calls and would like to be placed on our do not call list, please allow 24 hour for processing )
That was not word for word, but close..
They failed to say,
1. Who they are ..?
2. Who they work for or represented,
3. Any sort of Company name what so ever
4. What special promotional offer they are calling about
( Credit card / Debt relief /Debt collector with a payoff quoit and or offer / Phone service / What..?
5. To boot, It was a recording, there seemed to be no way to talk to a human..!
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, FOR THOSE WHO CALL THE NUMBER BACK, UNLESS YOU BLOCK YOUR NUMBER WHILE CALLING, THE NUMBER YOU CALL FROM IS HARVESTED FOR FUTURE CALLS..! YEP, THEY ADD YOUR NUMBER TO THERE LIST WITH CALLER ID..
So at this point all I can say is BEWARE OF THE UNKNOWN CALLER, IT STINKS LIKE A SCAM..!
AN HONEST COMPANY WOULD LEAVE,
A CONTACT NAME,
NAME OF COMPANY THEY ARE REPRESENTING,
NATURE OF THE CALL,
A CALL BACK NUMBER ETC...
This is either an unscrupulous telemarketer or an out scam artist fishing for information. They refused to identify anything other than "Card Services from Visa and Master Card" and when I said they needed to say a company name that I recognized for me to go further in talking to them the woman said "well then I'm hanging up".
