"you are a telemarketer, and I don't do business with any company that uses telemarketing as a form of advertising" (stolen from a comment on this web site -- I love it)
Robo Sarah calls my cell number and my voip phone. She offers a free cruise for a 30 second survey about the bad state of politics in this election year. Other people have said that it is a ploy to sell you a cruise.
I have a lot more than 20 numbers from these people. But to keep it simple, these are the area codes that they are using (not all of them are in Oregon:
202 206 253 and brand new area code: 425
360 503 724
727 971
And each area code had several numbers from several calls. Each area code has 9,999,999 numbers fyi (7 digits). I am going to copy and paste and post this info for each number that calls me for this web site.
Nothing is going to stop these scammers and all we can do is block them or use call forward selective.. DNC does not work when they are robo dialing all possible random numbers. The authorities can not or will not help either.
So, just block them, don't answer unknown calls, and continue using this great site for information to be in control of your own home and cell phone calls. If it turns out that you did not answer a call from someone you know (number not on this site), just call them back. No problem. Its alot of work that I do (checking the number on this web site, blocking the caller, and making my own excel spreadsheet of numbers) but at least I FEEL like I have a little control of the situation. Maybe I'm delusional.
Its our life and we need to take it back.
One person said to call forward selective to the FCC whose number is 1-717-338-2533
(a commenter said they are out of Panama so even more worries there)
This is precisely what I do with these calls and my sentiments to a "T" regarding the Excel spreadsheet -- a work in progress. Thanks for the post. I'm glad I am not the only one keeping track of calls. The list may come in handy someday. Maybe we're both delusional, but hey, at least I am able to screen calls by occasionally leaving the phone off the hook or turning off the answering machine. My friends and relatives understand this situation, too. True, the calls cannot be stopped. Our wonderful, caring gov't won't do a thing about it. And we can forget about the FCC, the incompetent boobs (that's right I said it!).
