"you are a telemarketer, and I don't do business with any company that uses telemarketing as a form of advertising" (stolen from a comment on this web site -- I love it)
FYI DO NOT ANSWER CALLS FROM AREA CODE 206,
Robo Sarah calls my cell number and my voip phone. She offers a free cruise for a 30 second survey about the bad state of politics in this election year. Other people have said that it is a ploy to sell you a cruise.
I have a lot more than 30 numbers from these people. But to keep it simple, these are the area codes that they are using (not all of them are in Oregon:
202 206 253 and brand new area code: 425
360 503 724
727 971
And each area code had several numbers from several calls. Each area code has 9,999,999 numbers fyi (7 digits). I am going to copy and paste and post this info for each number that calls me for this web site.
Nothing is going to stop these scammers and lazy collection agency who call everyone with the same name instead of looking up the right one and all we can do is block them or use call forward selective.. DNC does not work when they are robo dialing all possible random numbers. The authorities can not or will not help either.
So, just block them, don't answer unknown calls, and continue using this great site for information to be in control of your own home and cell phone calls. If it turns out that you did not answer a call from someone you know (number not on this site), just call them back. No problem. Its alot of work that I do (checking the number on this web site, blocking the caller, and making my own excel spreadsheet of numbers) but at least I FEEL like I have a little control of the situation. Maybe I'm delusional.
Its our life and we need to take it back.
One person said to call forward selective to the FCC whose number is 1-717-338-2533
(a commenter said they are out of Panama so even more worries therE)
received a call from 1-206-496-0962, for participating in a political questionairre about the country's debt crisis and for that participation I will receive a cruise for 2 and for only a small amout of taxes etc .... ... well if it is free, there are no other amounts which makes it a bogus call ... when they reach their final destination in life ... there I will be with my forked tail and my alluring scent of brimstone and then Im will give them a cruise they can't resist.
Just got a call from this number this morning. I'm in Winnipeg, Manitoba. At first I thought it was 204 Manitoba area code so I reverse-looked up on 411.ca: nothing. Then I realised it was 206 and also tried to look up the owner of that via reverse lookup; also nothing. So I called the number, and a pleasant British woman's voice recording said something about the number being unavailable. Perhaps this is some kind of program which seeks to get a simple "hello" answer to record your voice patterns to a database for future Big Brother use. Look what's happening in America and also rapidly in Canada. Not that much of a stretch, really...
