i got call from this number stating that calling from amazon.com and want my credit card information. i asked to send a proof of that they are calling from amazon and he said he cannot have that information. He is in Indian accent and played to get my credit card information.
Phone call from a man saying his name was Fernando from Amazon asking me to verify a purchase of $2,300. Thick accent so I asked him to repeat. I told him to hang on while I got the police on the line. I asked him for his last name which he said he couldn't give to me. I asked him for the address which he was calling. I told him I needed to speak to his superviser. He couldn't give that to me. I asked him to keep holding while I got the police on the line with us.
They have some records of names and phone numbers because he used my first name and obviously had my phone number.
I told him that I knew it was a scam and that he was a criminal. He was unphased. I told him to never call this number again and hung up.
I purchased a $500 gift card on Amazon.com using a Mastercard Gift Card. Immediately, the number 206.508.4014 called repeatedly until I answered. A woman with an accent (sounded like she was in a call center) said she was from Amazon's call center. She said she just needed to verify the issuer of the card for security purposes. I gave it to her and she said, "Great, that's a match. you should get your gift card in a few minutes." However, i just received an email that declined my purchase of my gift card from Amazon. Obviously, this was a scam. I should have known better, but the execution was very fast, accurate and seemed real in the moment.
