Did a little research on this matter. Check out the FBI website, "www.fbi.gov/scams-safety/e-scams." Scroll down to "Telephone Collection Scam Related to Delinquent Pay Day Loans." The site gives information on many types of scams and where a complaint can be filed.
Well a bunch of people with accents from India somehow use this number to say they are gonna file lawsuits on people who have applied for or received payday loans - they got the phone number of the victoms by hacking the payday loan files and use the info to try and scare people into sending them money - it is fraud they are commiting - a total scam - I just feel bad that they are successful in conning some people.
Geez you crooks must sure be getting desperate. Well, thanks for letting us know this site is making it hard for you to trick people out of money on the phone, we're glad to hear it!
I have had numerous calls over the last several weeks identified variously as "Toll Free Number," "Unknown Caller," or "Unknown Name - 000-000-0000" (no voice messages left). Today the latter 000-000-0000 number left a message for my son., gave her name as Angela Jackson from Dept. of Law and Investigational ?????. She had an accent and I could not understand rest of message but something about Name, Social, and to call 206-801-3403 within 60 minutes. Sounds like SCAMS to me. Regardless of what Judge Bryan says about 206-801-3403, my son is not a "debtor involved in fraudulent activities over the net." Sounds like the caller is the one "involved in fraudulent activities." No legitimate caller would ask for SSN or other sensitive info over the phone. I refuse to answer calls that come in unidentified or to return a suspicious voice message call. Apparently, the "DO NOT CALL" list does not work either since there is no one to enforce it.
I have been getting calls from this number saying that i have a loan with some company that i did not take out dont know who or what company it is that i recieved mony from suposibly but i never got any mony from any one and i did not take out any loans in over 2 years
