Called my cell, midday on a Friday. Left no message. I've never had any calls like this on my cell; however, I just signed up for the do-not-call list earlier this week. Coincidence?
The girl indetified the company as "Consumer Services" and herself as Barbara Peay. (My caller I.D. said: "Out of area 1-207-412-1069") Barbara wanted to lower the intrest on all my credit cards. As long as the cards weren't overdrawn or late she said she could get my intrest reduced to around 6%. She promised it my credit rating wouldn't take a hit. I stopped when she axed me for my account number, and said I'll look into it and call her back. Dunno for sure, but I'm always suspicious.
I just received a call from the same number. It was a recorder message that said my auto warranty was expiring and I need to renew. I pressed the selection to speak with a live agent to ask that my number be removed from the list. The agent named Frank hung-up on me.
