Ottawa, Ontario. Got a call from an Indian man claiming to be from Microsoft, wanted me to turn on my computer to fix an error message he said was sent to him, wouldn't give me an error code number or the type of error. My husband is a computer guy so I said if he gave me the code or the error message I could get my husband to fix, he said it's just an error and to turn on my computer, I said no like 10 times during the 4 minute conversation, told him to give me his number and I would get my husband to call him back, he said bye and I repeated my request for the number for my husband to call and he said bye again and hung up.
VOIP call from somewhere in India/Pakistan, introduced himself as "Harry Smith", when asked for an address he said Texas, would not give me a business address or street location and started on a computer repair scam routine. Says he is from "Technical Support Services". As usual we hang up. I very much dislike these calls as they are clearly preying on the elderly, gullible or uninformed.
