Ottawa, Ontario. Got a call from an Indian man claiming to be from Microsoft, wanted me to turn on my computer to fix an error message he said was sent to him, wouldn't give me an error code number or the type of error. My husband is a computer guy so I said if he gave me the code or the error message I could get my husband to fix, he said it's just an error and to turn on my computer, I said no like 10 times during the 4 minute conversation, told him to give me his number and I would get my husband to call him back, he said bye and I repeated my request for the number for my husband to call and he said bye again and hung up.
It's not creepy when you consider the source as being a boiler room scam center in India/Pakistan. They are starting to get more mouthy because the word is spreading about their scamming routine and people are now more on alert. We're now Costing them big bucks and lots of frustration. I would take it as a job WELL DONE if I can get them that mad at me.
